Rockwell's (SDSU) Hog Lake trench 1 in the Fall of 2002. The faults in
this site near Anza, CA, are part of the San Jacinto strand of the
Southern California San Andreas system. I am shown standing in front
of one of the trench walls; you can see how sedimentary layers are
offset by repeated normal component motion of predominantly
strike-slip (out of plane) faulting in the past.
No, I am not holding a can of beer. Yes, those aren't socks but dried
mud.
